I meant to post this a long time ago...
I was in Jeuno looking for group, was 48rdm at the time. And I got an invite to a party so i just joined what the hell. well it was a bcnm party instead of exp party. i'd never done one, didn't have any lvl 40 equip (had some mp boosting rings, weapon, and a few other things but not much), and they didn't care so i thought why not. well we ended up with rdm(me), brd, whm, pld, drk, drk. i talked with some people i knew had done it before and they said it would never work, no ranger, no blm. i thought i was doomed of course, but the people were nice, we were having fun running around qufim screwing around, and the brd had experience with it before. oh just incase you're wondering about races... i'm mithra, bard/hume, whm/taru, pld/hume, drk/elvaan, drk/mithra. ok so we're about ready to go in, the bard give us what's gonna happen and crap and we take off. we decide that whoever trades the orb, collects all loot, sells it, and distributes profit to other 5 players, if we won that is. we head in and first thing we do, before moving at all, is give buffs (since buffs wear off when entering the burning circle), and then eat food. pld used crab, drk's used fishkabobs, brd just looked dumb and watched us, and myself and the whm used a pie at start, and juices when necessary because the battles can take a while. now on to the battle tactics....we've got food, buffs, and we're sweating, ready to head in. you head across a bridge and stop near the end of it, make sure, that no one gets close enough to the mandy's on the other side until you're ready. first off the pld runs in, right into the middle of them and takes a huge pounding, do not cure him, if you do they'll come after you and it screws the strategy up. pld's, don't use invincible, unless it gets super necessary. as soon as the pld has all their attention, in the middle of the circle area there, the brd runs in beside him, and does his little area sleep thing. it may take a couple times of sleeping before they are all asleep so have the bard say ALL SLEPT when that's the case. now the idea is, to fight one of them at a time, if you were to try to fight all of them at once forget it, can't control hate it would be aweful. what you wanna do is pull the big black mandy away from the group, to the end of the bridge you came in on. that's where the drk, drk, pld faught it, and the whm stays far back so that he's not hit with any aoe. of course the pld tanks, so they are all slept and you're ready to start pulling them, you have the pld provoke the black mandy, and pull it to the area at the bridge. now the rdm and brd stay in the circle with all the other little mandy's that are asleep. my job as rdm was very simple, keep the brd alive. while the pld and people are fighting the black one the others will wake and start attacking the brd, meaning he has to sleep them again, and will need some heals. just as rdm make sure to stand right beside brd, so if you get aggro from healing, they won't run off and will all be in his range to sleep again. the black mandy is tough, very tough. it can cast ancient magic flood, which will kill the tank, every time, you can't survive it. you'll need to stop it, you can do this with the pld shield bash, drk stun, blm stun if there is blm in party. for the most party the battle will go well as long as you can stop flood. a couple other things you have to look out for, are AOE paralyze, and blind spells that i can remember. which as rdm or whm be sure to watch for that, if you're whm you take care of the fighters, so cure their paralyze blind as soon as you can. you should stay out of range so that they don't affect you. my job as rdm, taking care of brd, watch out for paralyze as well, if he gets paralyzed and it's not cured, can't sleep, then dies, then mandy's take off it's over. ok so lets assume you stop flood, kill black mandy now what? well you have to move fairly quickly to kill them all within the time limit so you need to move and pull another mandy quick. this is important, one puller picks which mandy to pull, try to get the closest one to the bridge every time. have pld provoke, ok so now target is chosen. i'm sure you all know how much hate sleeping gets you, so when you wake it up to pull it, it will most likely still attack the brd, well that's ok, i take care of bard, and now the other members can attack it, pld provoke as many times as needed, drks can swing at it, you may have to fight it for a moment in the middle of the other mandy's until you get aggro. as soon as you get aggro away from the bard, move it to the bridge and begin laying in to it as you normally would. repeat until there are just a couple left, then rdm can throw some other cures/enfeebles in or whatever. as rdm, you can throw a couple enfeebles on the black mandy which do help a lot, a lot of times the whm will have troubles getting enfeebles to stick, so for the most part the whm should stick to healing and nothing else, because of the length of the battle, how much curing will be needed you see where i'm going. there are many ways to do it, just get some people together, figure out what works best for your group, be ready to die a few times, and you'll eventually get it. we died real bad our first time out, but after that it went smooth. rdm can toss a refresh on the whm or pld in between battles if, if you have the mp to spare, i found that i really didn't. it took a lot of curing to keep the brd alive after being hit by 10- mandy's everytime they woke up. well good luck to you, i hope this helps.
